Mission, Vision, and Values
Mission Statement
To build a Love-centered community of spiritually transforming people who embrace everyone, inspire life, and create more to serve our neighbors and future generations.
Theological Vision
At the heart of our community is the sacred story of an innovative Christian tradition. Life together is motivated by the wisdom, teachings, spirit, and actions of Jesus, which guide our unconditional embrace of all people.
We celebrate an expansive view of what a church can be. Beyond dogma and belief, we imagine church to be a place of belonging. Christ’s compassion inspires us toward relationships that make us more fully alive. We are spiritually transformed by this dynamic engagement of those on a Christian faith journey, those of other faiths, those who claim no faith, and those who identify as spiritual but not religious.
We are an open, inclusive, collaborative, and love-centered hub of spiritually curious thinkers, seekers, artists, creatives, dreamers, healers, doubters, and social actiontakers. The spark of the divine is in everybody, and we believe in setting it free. We gather and partner together to create a more beautiful, just, peaceful, and meaningful world.
Organizational Vision
Pine Street Church is a spiritually-centered community hub in downtown Boulder that operates seven-days a week. Worship gatherings along with a broad range of events, classes, art exhibits, and music performances focus on spirituality, the arts, and social action.
We design safe and creative spaces that serve as incubators of innovation and ideas. This motivates action toward the common good in our community, our region, and the world beyond. Community and individual connections are emphasized through intentional partnerships with organizations that share our vision and values.
Inclusion Statement
All human beings are made in the divine image. We invite and welcome ALL to participate and partner in celebration across gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, cognitive and physical abilities, educational background, and socioeconomic situation.
Values
Authenticity… to help us let go of who we think we are supposed to be and embrace who we are.
Courage… to risk something big for something good.
Creativity… to set free the spark of the divine that lives in everybody.
Curiosity… to form critical inquiry and seek understanding, wholehearted living, and solutions to the crucial challenges of our time.
Diversity… to engage strengths, evolving perspectives, growing edges, abilities, and differences in a unified vision.
Hospitality… to embrace everyone and practice “acceptance without exception.”
Healing… to nurture wholeness in body, mind, and spirit
