A Vision for Pine Street Church of Boulder
Honoring Our Past … Embracing New Beginnings
Walking by the Pine Street Church, you’ve noticed our construction of Pine Street Commons, first built in 1968 under the leadership of Jack Fowler. We warmly call it “the house that Jack built.” The building, not used directly by our congregation for many years, is being converted now to house the Off Broadway Preschool of Fine Arts and the Off Broadway School of Fine Arts (SOFA).
To enable this construction, and other projects too, we launched a capital campaign in September to bring our dreams of how God might use our church into reality. We’re engaged in a construction project that will offer children and youth in our community a place to discover and enhance their creative gifts. Our campaign goal is $970,000.
What a blessing it is to us to be able to give to a project that’s been shaped by prayer, imagination, vision, strategic planning, hope and good old fashioned hard work. We’ve done this because we see exciting days of creative ministry ahead. We all are so very fortunate to be part of a worshiping community of faith where we have a beautiful, historically significant facility that is a resource to the larger Boulder community.
We have a legacy a century and a half long, which has us looking far into the future as we build on what our founders first saw when they chose to build in the center of downtown, a location we have affirmed and out of which we offer our ministries.
In that regard, our great old building needs our shared attention. We invite you to join with us as we all roll up our sleeves to do whatever needs to be done. We ask you to share enthusiastically in this opportunity to invest in our future, both for the current generation and the generation who will walk in our footsteps tomorrow ... possibly our own grandchildren!

For those of you who’ve not yet made a decision about what you might give, please consider the following:
- Recall all the blessings God has given you, not for your personal use only, but to build an active church in our community
- Pray to discern what sacrificial gift God is asking you to give in this capital campaign. Remember that we are all challenged to regularly make adjustments in our lives in the way we use our time, energy, creative gifts and finances to support our church.
- Know that every gift, regardless of the size, will be an important contribution to the capital campaign.
- Discuss your family’s participation with all members of your family and what it means to you
